 | Healthsite Overview: Your Diagnosis | |

Your Diagnosis is an Australian website that provides you with possible diagnoses, based on your answers to its online questions, for a fee of US$12.50 (the Express option) or US$15.00 (the Comprehensive option). You’re billed in Australian currency at the exchange rate of the day, plus any credit card fees for exchanging foreign currency.
The service is designed not only to diagnose new conditions, but also to offer a second opinion on a diagnosis you’ve already received. It’s also designed to help you decide whether your problems are severe enough to warrant a doctor visit at all. The site’s content is available in multiple languages, including Spanish and Indonesian.
According to the website, Your Diagnosis has a database of thousands of questions that were developed by an expert panel of physicians, all affiliated with Macquarie Hospital Services in Australia. The panel performs regular clinical audits of the reports to ensure that the diagnostic questions remain up-to-date, the site says.
The reports generated run approximately two to four pages, and include percentages and bar graph estimates of the probability that your are suffering from a particular disease or condition. The main difference between the Express and Comprehensive reports appears to be the family medical history data, which is shown only on the Comprehensive report.
Both the Express and the Comprehensive reports also tell you how urgent your situation is for each possible diagnosis – whether you should see your doctor immediately, within the next 24 hours, within the next three to seven days, or whether you should simply mention the problem during your next routine doctor visit.
In addition, the site offers a place to sign up for its free newsletter, and a list of three affiliated website links. These include Your Sexual Diagnosis and Your Skin Diagnosis, both fee-based sites similar to the main site, and Your Health Record, an online place to store your medical history.
Your Diagnosis is owned by MacHealth Pty Ltd. It does not accept advertising and is funded only by user fees.
